I am utterly beside myself as today I have found out our wonderful 3 year old male cat has leukaemia and it is the cancer version.
The problem is I am English and we now live in Switzerland and my Vet has limited speaking in English.
Therefore I am searching the internet but can only come up with the viral leukaemia version not the cancer version
Dora is a moggy but looks like a Persian cat - he weighs in at 6.2 kg so over weight. He has always been a howling cat -ever since day one - he has wanted constant attention . When he is patted he is fine. I used to take him to the vet in the Uk and they did tests and just said it is a behaviour thing.
Recently he has been weeing all over the house - large volumes - I can be patting him one minute and then he just wee's
Anyway she did some tests for routine bloods and diabetes but today says he has the cancer form of Leaukeamia not the viral
He looks well - eats well and has not lost weight
What do I need to know and do and can it be treated
She is running more tests - to locate the source - I thought leukaemia was just ion bone marrow -am I incorrect?
I am nurse so understand about Leukaemia but am beside myself about this
If you can offer me any help i would so much appreciate it
